From humble
beginnings

Mother and daughter Mary and Greta Washington founded Head over Heels in small town Timaru in 2007, after they won the opportunity to attend an international shoe fair in Europe. The trip ignited a preexisting love of high quality footwear and a desire to open a luxury boutique, inspiring the duo to open their first store. After gaining a reputation for their unique brands and styles that weren’t found elsewhere, they opened the second store in 2009 on High Street in Christchurch. Following the aftermath of the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes, Head over Heels temporarily settled in Christchurch’s pop-up container mall dubbed Re:Start, before returning back to High Street into our new permanent store in 2017, happily nestled in the buzz of the new city precinct.

Head over Heels evolved to include an online service in 2015, allowing us to cater to women across New Zealand and Australia. Today, Mary, Greta and their team are driven by their deep passion for fashion to provide the best service to their community, through both physical and online stores.
